The current owner of Old Cedars inherited a garden in February 2016 that was neglected. Ad hoc positioning of plants plus weeds dominated the garden beds and lawns.
However, the original design of the garden revealed itself throughout, which lead  the owner to decide it was worth continuing to build on.

Geoffrey feels that a garden is a source of delight and pleasure created by the labour, assisted by the basics – soil, water & sunlight, plus bees, which evolves into a beautiful environment that is an extension of the home & buildings!

Large garden pots strategically placed, an Italianate fountain and other water features add interest and a formality to this garden. Garden seating provides places for contemplation throughout the changing seasons, with a favourite being the Lutyens seat in the southwest corner of the garden.

The garden is still being improved; plant selection and placement constantly being changed so as to make this space a gardener’s delight.
