Garden 1

Fox Hollow – 48 Erith Street

Fox hollow cottage was built in 1912 and is one of the early Fettler cottages of Bundanoon. As part of a 5 year garden restoration plan, extensive plantings have been undertaken. The pathways and gardens have been edged with over 300 Buxus japonica and with an elegant understory of over 150 hellebores providing a stunning burst of flower throughout winter. Landscape designer Kaitlyn Ripolles of Highlands Design Co provided a restoration plan with a vision of staged flowering and colour throughout the year. The design includes a silver birch grove with Camellia japonica “Brushfields yellow” featuring prominently through the garden. Azaleas, rhododendrons and hydrangeas provide colour waves throughout the year. Established trees give shelter to tree ferns, and lily of the valley perfumes the cottage through late spring. This petite garden has many features and all on only a 630m2 block.

Mature trees include Ginko biloba, liquidambers , claret ash, flowering plums and a 100 year old flowering cherry tree
