23 Viewland Street

This is a garden that encourages rambling. As you wander down the paths, they lead you through arches, past quirky sculptures and into a variety of garden ‘rooms’ to explore. Seats are strategically placed throughout the garden for restful contemplation as well as giving visitors the opportunity to sit quietly and enjoy the prolific birdlife.

Structure is created with the use of formal and informal plantings, while drifts of perennials, arches of climbing roses, splashes of bright annuals and a wonderful mixture of camellias add some beautiful colour. Regular use of manure and mulches assists in making this garden the delight it is!

Graham loves spending time in the vege patch where he is rewarded with an abundance of produce for the kitchen. He also enjoys time with his aviary of breeding budgies, which provides some most-welcome relaxation.

Sue’s special contributions include the amazing variety of colourful sculptures in the garden and her studio will be open during the Ramble for visitors to peruse. Nellie, the couples’ friendly dog, is around to greet all!

True gardeners will nearly always tell you that their garden is a work in progress. Graham and Sue’s multi-layered, peaceful garden filled with interest that we see today, reflects their obvious love of gardening.
